ACO Development
Medicare Advantage plans who demonstrate exceptional clinical outcomes and member satisfaction will be paid quality of care bonuses. Now is the time for ACO’s and MA plans to come together to work toward a common goal.
Starting January 1, 2012 Accountable Care Organizations will be eligible for shared cost savings if specific quality benchmarks are achieved in a 12 month period. The benchmark for each ACO will be based on the most recent available three years of per-beneficiary expenditures.
What you will need and how HCPC can help….
Provider performance management, integrated medical management, cost containment and improving patient outcomes. To be effective, ACOs and plans must have the proper infrastructure. We offer a unique combination of technology, content, and services in our ACO development. Using the HCPC ACO Infrastructure, our clients can leverage claim, coding, pharmacy, lab, and other necessary data to isolate critical areas requiring improvement.
Three standards of ACOs
- The ability to provide, and manage with patients, the continuum of care across different institutional settings, including at least ambulatory and inpatient hospital care and possibly post acute care
- The capability of prospectively planning budgets and resource needs
- Sufficient size to support comprehensive, valid, and reliable performance measurement.
